Green Kitchen Respray and New Cabinetry
A dull L-shaped kitchen reworked into an open-plan kitchen diner, with new cabinetry for an American fridge freezer, a lit pantry, push-to-open drawers, and the whole room resprayed green.
This kitchen came in two stages. A couple of years ago it was a boring L-shaped room, and the first job was to build an island to give it a bit more worktop and somewhere to sit. That did its work for a while.
Then in 2026 the house had a wider renovation. The wall came out and the kitchen was opened up into one large kitchen diner, which changed what the room needed. The island came out too, because with the space opened up, the way its main section was being used no longer made sense.
In its place I built new cabinetry to house an American style fridge freezer, and turned the run where the old fridge freezer had stood into a pull-out pantry with LED lighting that comes on as the door opens. New push-to-open drawers went in alongside, so the fronts stay clean with no handles.
The last step tied the old and the new together: the whole kitchen was resprayed green. Not just the new cabinetry. The existing units and the doors from the original kitchen all went back green as well, so nothing reads as an addition.
